iPhone 15 Plus USB-C Charging Port Malfunction
Problem
The customer's iPhone 15 Plus presented with intermittent charging, then complete refusal of USB-C input. Diagnostics confirmed an open circuit in the VBUS line of the USB-C port, indicating physical damage to the internal connector pins. This prevented power delivery and data transfer, rendering the iPhone 15 Plus unchargeable via cable, severely impacting daily use.
Fix Applied
The iPhone 15 Plus underwent a careful display removal, protecting the Dynamic Island sensors. The logic board was gently detached. Using specialized microsoldering tools, the damaged USB-C port assembly was desoldered and replaced with a new, genuine iPhone 15 Plus component. The new port was secured, followed by reassembly and functional checks.
Result
The iPhone 15 Plus charging functionality was fully restored. Post-repair tests verified stable charging, data transfer, and accessory compatibility. A 12-month warranty was provided, ensuring long-term reliability for the iPhone 15 Plus.
