iPhone 16 Pro Fusion Camera Recalibration
Problem
The customer's iPhone 16 Pro experienced persistent soft focus on the 48MP main camera following a minor drop. Diagnostic tests revealed a minute internal displacement of the optical image stabilisation (OIS) assembly, impacting sensor alignment. This caused blurry output, especially noticeable in detailed macro shots, significantly hindering his work requiring high-resolution imaging for data capture. The 48MP Fusion camera failed to deliver expected clarity.
Fix Applied
We carefully disassembled the iPhone 16 Pro, isolating the 48MP Fusion camera module. The OIS assembly was meticulously realigned using a precision micro-tool. Post-reinstallation, a critical step involved connecting to Apple's proprietary calibration software. This software performed a specific OIS and lens array calibration, correcting the sensor's focal plane. All camera modes, including 4K ProRes, were verified for optimal performance.
Result
The iPhone 16 Pro's 48MP camera functionality was fully restored to factory specifications. Extensive photo and video tests confirmed sharp focus across all modes. A 12-month warranty was provided on the camera module and labour.
