iPhone 16 Logic Board Thermal Rework
Problem
iPhone 16 experiencing random reboots during heavy use, despite sufficient battery. Diagnostics revealed that the A18 chip, known for its increased thermal output compared to the A17, was exceeding safe operating temperatures. The internal thermal paste on the logic board had degraded, leading to inefficient heat dissipation. This affected CPU performance and caused system instability, making the iPhone 16 unreliable for critical work tasks and data processing.
Fix Applied
We meticulously disassembled the iPhone 16, carefully removing the logic board. The original thermal paste, found to be hardened and cracked, was thoroughly cleaned from the A18 chip and heatsink. High-grade Arctic MX-4 thermal paste was then precisely applied. The device was reassembled, and a comprehensive stress test was performed, monitoring A18 chip temperatures and system stability to ensure optimal performance of the iPhone 16.
Result
The iPhone 16 now runs stably, with A18 chip temperatures remaining within safe limits even under load. All functions were verified post-repair. A 12-month warranty covers this logic board service.
